Projects of The Past
Past. Present. Future.

Jungle Madness (Children's Book)
June 2023
I created this book for children during a class I took in High School back in 2012 or 2013. Either in 10th or 11th grade. I don't recall the name of the art class, but the project was for us students to create a children's book to read to 1st graders. At the end of the class, the teacher took us to a school for us to sit down with a group of students and read it to them. This project was among one of my favorites during high school and I'm glad I managed to create something for them to enjoy. The book includes flaps to engage them in learning, and the story that I created was inspired by a famous book and movie called Jumanji. While writing this book and creating certain visuals, I found it very difficult to put two and two together. Now, as I took a course in college called Books for Young Readers, I realized the technique of writing children's books and how difficult it can be for most writers.

Life of Two Individuals (Project to Be Expanded Years Later)
June, 2023
I don't recall when I created this little project but it was for a class in either Middle School or the beginning of High School. I'm including it here because it's about natural disasters and how two different people experience them differently. In this instance, two animals, a panda and a buffalo (I didn't want to use actual people or nationalities to represent certain class/and or realities) are sharing their stories (fictional) about them experiencing a certain natural disasters, they both lost their homes, but they still have each other. At the end of the short text, I included Safety Disaster Instructions. Now years later, I plan to recreate this on a bigger level and perhaps even interview real people about their experiences and get their permission to include it in my project. With climate change on the rise, natural disasters are happening more frequently and even stronger than usual.

Senior Project
2014
This was a project that I was so fond of in high school that I had to include it here. I had taken a class on Old English Literature and it fascinated me so much that I was willing to translate certain pieces from Modern English to Old English. At first, I thought it would be a piece of cake, but then it got so technical that I couldn't even continue and the stress started to get to me. I then took it upon myself to just use a translator, and even though I didn't translate it myself, I still am proud of it. I learned more by not stressing over it and even translated the Old English to my native language Maltese as well. Now, years later, I would love to expand on this project by working on translating a piece of work of my own into Old English. It's an idea that I will keep with me for the near future.
