Final 3 Novels.
I’ve read these for a course called High School Movies during my fall semester of 2020.
The Blackboard Jungle by Evan Hunter is a story written in the 50s and was eventually made into a movie, I believe a year after the book was published. It’s a story about a teacher who teaches in a vocational school and how he tries to better his students. The book and the movie were both great and I definitely recommend.
2. Emma by Jane Austen was a favorite of mine out of these three and it was also my first time reading it. It is a hefty novel but I’ve started to love Jane Austen and I’m due to read more of her texts. The movie Clueless was inspired by Emma, with Cher being the protagonist of the text.
3. Election by Tom Perrotta is a story that follows a high school teacher who controls the school governmental election. All it is, is teachers, teenagers, and election information. It is however written from perspectives of each important character so that’s different. The movie that was made after is acted by Reese Witherspoon and Matthew Broderick which was comedic.
That’s all for the books I had to read during my last semester of college. Now on to good and better things.
Q: Since it is a new year, how many books do you think you will read by the end of 2021?
